My husband and I discovered a little box in our favorite tree in our backyard.(behind the bowling alley, and don’t worry the box is back in the tree safe and sound) there was a little scanner block on the lid of the box which took me to this website. This explains why so many people are drawn to the little patch of woods in our yard, we just figured it was folks from the bowling alley. It sounds like an interesting activity and I would like to know more about it, if you could provide me with the details. I would also love to have the password so I can take a peep at the map. hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Michelle

Cool stuff! I’m from Venice and my friend and I checked out a few of these spots last night. Just an update, the church off cattleman is gone, but that little building next to it is still standing. We found a loose board over one of the windows and got it off, its still set up like a haunted house in there! We’re going back tonight to get in, we’ll try to take some pics

I know of a few places in sarasota. Gwiz has been closed for years. A friend and I went there over the weekend. Homeless people like to sleep in the back, near the AC units. There are multiple ways on the roof, including a tree that literally extends to the roof. There is a fire hatch up there, but no access to the inside (unless someone can find a way into the fire hatch).

Also right down the road, on the corner of 4th and El Verona, there is an old apartment complex from the 20s. It used to be accessible, but theyve boarded up in the past 6 months. For those who can climb though, there are fire escapes on each side of the building. Each side is boarded up, except one. You can climb up and access the roof, which has a little court area and a mini gazebo and whatnot

  16. Hi! Recently (about two months ago) my boyfriend John and I have been getting into the Urbex scene, and you were actually one of the first blogs that we used as reference. We’re from the Sarasota area as well. We’be travelled a bit since then, from three to five hours away, and have gotten into huge hospitals, hotels, and just this weekend a funeral home. You can see them on our YouTube channel, Desecrated Architects. I’m contacting you because we don’t disregard all these lesser known sites, and have been trying to find them in our area, but our hometown sarasota/Bradenton hasn’t shown us much luck. Would you possibly want to talk locations with us?
